Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Remote Process Automation Engineer to enhance their operational efficiency and control systems across various chemical facilities, including those servicing Kimberley . This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation solutions for chemical processes, enabling real-time monitoring, control, and optimization. As a remote employee, you will leverage digital tools and platforms to support global operations, ensuring seamless integration and performance of automated systems, and driving innovation in process control from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement process control strategies and automation solutions.
• Configure and troubleshoot Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• Develop Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications for process visualization and operator control.
• Ensure the reliability and performance of automation systems through monitoring and preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate with process engineers and IT teams to integrate automation systems with plant operations.
• Stay current with advancements in automation technology and implement innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering , Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process automation engineering within the chemical or manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency with DCS platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson, Siemens) and PLC programming.
• Strong understanding of control theory, instrumentation, and safety systems.
• Experience with SCADA systems and data acquisition.
