Job summary

Empower Tutoring is seeking a passionate, experienced tutor with a strong background in English to support high school students. This remote role focuses on tutoring Ontario high school students online and may extend to other subjects.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's Degree or B.Ed, have prior tutoring experience in Ontario, and can ensure student progress while mentoring learners from home.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and able to tutor high school students.
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience in Ontario is required.
• Good knowledge of the Ontario high school curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Provide online English tutoring sessions through our online learning platform for Ontario high school students.
• Observe and evaluate a student's skill level to determine progress and work toward improvement with the tutoring program.
• Collaborate with parents/guardians to create a personal academic plan or timeline for the student.
• Help students in areas of need such as homework completion, getting ahead in class, and learning new concepts.
• Be able to relate to students and act as a mentor.
