Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is offering a Northern Staffing Program opportunity in Canada’s remote northern communities. This assignment focuses on expanded nursing practice, acute and primary care, and travel to diverse communities with generous compensation.

The role emphasizes collaboration, evidence-based care, and culturally safe practices, with a strong orientation toward professional development and ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• 3,000 hours within the past 3–5 years in acute or critical care nursing, specifically in areas such as Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit.
• OR 1,500–3,000 hours providing care in remote, isolated, or semi-isolated communities as a Community Health Nurse.
• OR 4,500 hours within the past 5 years in Med-Surg (Nunavut only).

Responsibilities

• Work in a team atmosphere performing an expanded scope of practice in communities, providing primary and emergency care to all residents—from newborn to elders—through a nursing station/Health Center in a clinic atmosphere
• Utilize observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching according to care plan
• Health Promotion, Assessments, planning and implementing care using Best Practice Guidelines; primary and emergency care; travel nursing; experience creating care plans; IPAC and communicable disease control, immunizations
• Ensure that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients are met within the scope of practice
