Job summary
Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications for the Ottawa team. You will drive best practices, ensure accessibility, and collaborate with product designers and QA to shape the Windows platform roadmap.
You will mentor engineers, own critical features end-to-end, and optimize performance, memory usage, and compatibility across Windows 10/11+.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK/WinUI
- Strong C#/XAML experience; native Windows C++ experience a plus
- Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with focus on reliability and performance
- Deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between managed and native code
- Commitment to accessibility and inclusive software with hands-on experience
Responsibilities
- Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop apps
- Define best practices for code architecture, performance, and cross-version compatibility
- Drive accessibility efforts across UI controls, focus management, and screen reader support
- Collaborate with product teams to shape UI/UX architecture and roadmap for Windows platform
- Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and memory issues
