Job summary

The Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre is seeking an Indigenous Peoples Court Caseworker to provide case and file management for Indigenous clients attending IPC and to help them follow through with court-directed healing recommendations.

You will provide direct services and referrals to TBIFC programs and community resources, ensuring timely access to services and supports for clients in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Social Services; 2 years in social or justice services preferred.
• Knowledge of judicial system, Criminal Code and related statutes affecting Indigenous persons.
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture; Indigenous language skills considered an asset.
• Experience in Restorative Justice and conflict resolution is an asset.
• Strong communication, interviewing and counselling skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends; valid Ontario driver's license.
