Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Hygiene Specialist to lead remote hygiene programs across operations. You will develop, implement, and monitor sanitation strategies, conduct virtual risk assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance while collaborating with distributed teams.

This remote role supports Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA operations from anywhere, with a focus on public health, data-driven improvements, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in hygiene management, sanitation or related public health role.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and managing comprehensive hygiene programs.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in hygiene and sanitation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee advanced hygiene and sanitation strategies and programs.
• Conduct remote risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international hygiene regulations.
• Provide training to staff on hygiene practices and proper use of sanitation supplies.
• Investigate hygiene incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hygiene into operations.
• Monitor program effectiveness and propose data-driven improvements.
• Stay updated on trends and regulatory changes in hygiene and sanitation.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations for senior management.
