Varsity Tutors is seeking online High School Reading tutors to join our Live Learning Platform. You can set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and impact students’ academic success from home.

Earn up to $40/hour with incremental pay per session, get paid twice per week, and teach remotely using our AI-powered Copilot to enhance sessions. We handle invoicing and payments, letting you focus on teaching.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of critical reading strategies, literary analysis, informational and argumentative text analysis.
• Ability to explain how to analyze author purpose, evaluate argument validity, interpret figurative language, and synthesize texts for AP/college readiness.
• Familiar with high school reading standards and common challenges, adapting instruction to diverse learners.
• Effective teaching methods: explain concepts via multiple approaches and adapt to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to high school students via the Live Learning Platform.
• Offer on-demand tutoring and flexible scheduling to fit student needs.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments and logistics.
• Communicate progress and feedback to students to support college readiness.
