Job summary

Varsity Tutors is seeking online Middle School Reading tutors to work remotely. You will conduct 1-on-1 sessions with students nationwide, set your own schedule, and earn competitive rates up to $40/hour.

As a tutor on our platform, you will use our Live Learning Platform for sessions, receive AI-assisted support, and be paid twice per week. No commuting is required and you’ll invoice for your tutoring sessions.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of middle school reading concepts such as comprehension strategies, literary analysis, and text evidence citation.
• Ability to teach close reading, evidence-based responses, and critical analysis of fiction and nonfiction texts.
• Familiarity with middle school reading standards and adaptable instruction for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual students.
• Accept on-demand tutoring sessions as available.
• Use Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform to conduct sessions and engage students.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; platform handles payments.
