Job summary

Broadstreet Properties Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our mid-size, collaborative team in Canada.

The role focuses on maintaining accurate fiscal records, preparing monthly financial reports, and supporting the year-end close while allowing growth toward a CPA designation. The successful candidate will handle complex calculations, ensure timely reconciliations, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and system implementations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance; equivalent experience considered.
• High integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
• Strong problem identification and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic ERP understanding.
• CPA designation pursuit or recent grad is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fiscal records and prepare monthly financial reports, including property accounting and bank reconciliations.
• Lead complex calculations and transactions to ensure GL accuracy.
• Ensure all transactions, accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations are timely.
• Prepare monthly and year-end statements and working papers.
• Review budgets and forecasts, analyze variances, and report to regional teams.
• Assist in system implementations and ad hoc projects.
• Maintain Policies and Procedures Manual for routine and complex transactions.
• Build rapport with staff and regional managers to reflect operations accurately.
• Stay current with regulations, tax laws, and industry trends.
