Job summary

Affirm, Inc. seeks a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead the Resilience Engineering team. You will champion production load testing, chaos engineering, and safe production experimentation to improve reliability and safety of our systems.

You will mentor engineers, define platform capabilities, and partner with infrastructure, product, and security leaders to embed resilience practices across the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of reliability, infrastructure, or distributed systems teams.
• Hands-on production load testing or large-scale system validation.
• Experience with cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes) and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive resilience engineering strategy for production load testing and chaos engineering.
• Mentor engineers and build platforms for safe production experimentation.
• Embed resilience validation into the SDLC with safeguards and auditability.
• Develop monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices for resilience testing.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and security leadership to establish guardrails.
