Job summary

Best Buy Canada is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to support inventory accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting in a remote-first environment. Located in Vancouver, you will interact in person for strategic collaboration when needed.

You’ll work with SOX controls, vendor reconciliations, and process improvements while leveraging IFRS/US GAAP alignment and financial systems knowledge. CPA path and Excel expertise are valued.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Accounting and CPA progression.
• 1+ years of experience in controls, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Intermediate MS Excel skills and strong communication.
• Familiarity with SQL and Oracle Cloud is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial data, including journal entries, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage consignment inventory accounting, vendor reconciliations, and cross-system balancing.
• Oversee allocation of freight, storage, and markdown expenses with meaningful reporting.
• Design and improve reconciliation templates, reporting, and data extraction processes.
• Partner with stakeholders to investigate issues and support process improvements.
• Leverage Oracle and RMS knowledge to support accounting operations.
