Job summary

Fellow is hiring an engineer to build and operate distributed media processing systems that power real‑time meeting capabilities. You will handle audio/video ingestion, metadata, and events across diverse environments and platforms.

You will work on reliable backend services, observability, and tooling while applying AI‑native approaches to coding, testing, and deployment. This role emphasizes collaboration with Product, SRE, Support, and other teams, and offers remote‑first work within Canada.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating production‑critical systems where reliability, latency, throughput, or consistency materially affect the user experience.
• Strong judgment when balancing delivery speed, system reliability, technical debt, and long‑term platform investment.
• Deep, practical use of AI coding agents with strong judgment and proactive workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate services that capture, ingest, and process meeting audio, video, metadata, and real‑time events.
• Design reliable systems across changing networks, platform behavior, permissions, media formats, and third‑party APIs.
• Develop observability and tooling to diagnose, reproduce, and resolve complex recording failures.
