Job summary

Canada Homestay Network Society is seeking an Event & Sponsorship Research Coordinator to identify and evaluate opportunities across Canada. Working remotely, you will apply a consistent evaluation framework to determine which events and sponsorships align with CHN priorities.

The role is part-time up to 15 hours per week with a starting wage of between $18.00-23.00/hour. You will research organizers, assess audiences, and provide evidence-based recommendations.

• Sound judgment, curiosity and problem-solving; adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to assess opportunities against established criteria including audience fit, strategic alignment, cost and value.
• Fluency in English and French is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Discover and research relevant events, community initiatives and sponsorship opportunities across Canada.
• Evaluate opportunities using CHN's criteria and scoring framework.
• Follow CHN's event selection criteria guidelines to determine focus areas.
• Ensure research reflects CHN’s priorities and objectives.
• Assess audience fit, demographics, alignment with CHN values, geographic relevance, cost and impact.
• Communicate with organizers to gather information, pricing and sponsorship details.
• Recommend whether CHN should attend, sponsor, monitor or decline opportunities with rationale.
• Maintain a national event and sponsorship calendar and pipeline; track deadlines.
• Identify partnerships beyond traditional event participation.
• Track decisions, costs, outcomes and lessons learned to improve future planning.
• Build relationships with community organizations, event organizers and partners.
• Ensure events/sponsorships are secured and planned with lead time.
• Communicate expectations and timelines to colleagues responsible for execution.
• Other duties as assigned.
