Job summary

Apptad Inc is seeking a Machine Learning Specialist to support Alberta's Data Centre of Excellence by designing and developing data products, ML models, and AI-enabled services for evidence-based policy and improved public services.

You will work with cross-functional teams, data engineers, and business leaders to ensure reliable, explainable, privacy-compliant ML solutions throughout the data product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience with Python, R, and SQL.
• 6 years building analytical and quantitative models.
• 6 years transforming data for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
• 6 years applying data analytics and data science methods.
• 6 years applying AI/ML to data science use cases, such as anomaly detection, predictive monitoring, forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Advise stakeholders on when and how to apply machine learning, including identifying data prerequisites, risks, limitations, and value.
• Analyze, organize, normalize, clean, and integrate raw data from multiple sources for modeling.
• Design, train, validate, document, and refine ML models using appropriate algorithms and tools.
• Communicate findings through analytical models, reports, visualizations, dashboards, and insights.
• Integrate trained ML models into applications and data products as needed.
• Develop auditing, privacy, governance, and metadata mechanisms for ML products.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within multi-disciplinary teams.
