Job summary

The Department’s Data Centre of Excellence within the Government of Alberta seeks a Machine Learning Specialist to design and deliver analytical data products and services. You will apply ML/AI, data engineering and modelling to enable GoA to leverage data assets for better policy and service outcomes.

Responsibilities include building ML models, creating visualizations and dashboards, and ensuring data quality, privacy and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in using R, Python and SQL for analytics.
• Ability to build analytical and quantitative models.
• Experience prepping data for prescriptive/predictive modelling.
• Familiarity with AI/ML in data science or analytics.
• Knowledge of data sharing, de-identification, metadata, ethics and synthetic data.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients to understand analytics needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Develop ML tools, models, and insights to inform policy and services.
• Create visualizations, dashboards and analytical models for decision makers.
• Ensure data quality, governance and security within ML projects.
