Job summary

Impact Recruitment is assisting a Canadian financial services client in finding a Manager, Accounting Operations to lead an eight-to-ten person team overseeing AP, AR, payroll, and related financial operations under the Controller.

The successful candidate will ensure accurate processing, maintain strong internal controls, and drive process improvements while collaborating with cross-functional partners across the organization.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is mandatory.
• Five or more years of accounting and relevant industry experience.
• At least two years of management experience leading, coaching, and developing a team.
• Experience overseeing AP, AR, payroll, payment processing, commissions, benefits, and financial controls, ensuring accurate transactions and compliance with company policies.
• Knowledge of ASPE and IFRS.

Responsibilities

• Lead an eight-person accounting operations team across AP, AR, payroll, and accounting support, overseeing accurate and timely transaction processing.
• Review and approve financing payments, customer pre-authorized debits, AP transactions, buyouts, refunds, payroll, benefits, commissions, and bonuses.
• Oversee intercompany billings and ensure payroll and compensation transactions are accurately reflected in financial statements.
• Support year-end audits by preparing working papers and documentation for external auditors.
• Coach and develop team members, establish consistent procedures, and strengthen internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and team performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on special projects and accounting initiatives.
