Qualifications

• University degree, college diploma, CIP coursework or equivalent insurance industry experience preferred.
• 6 months to 5 years of claims, paralegal, law clerk or property management experience.
• Possess or obtain provincial insurance adjuster license(s) after hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills while prioritizing caseload.
• Performs detailed analysis of each claim and evaluates coverage and liability.
• Monitors files, issues coverage opinions, and coordinates defense counsel when needed.
• Develops claim litigation and resolution strategies; maintains detailed files.
• Provides information to underwriters and reinsurers on claims and legal trends.
• Attends arbitrations or mediations and assists with settlements and reserves.
• Ensures compliance with statutes, regulations, and company policies.
