Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Chemistry Subject Matter Expert to design graduate-level problems and craft clear, structured solutions to help train AI models. Remote, hourly contract with flexible 10–40 hours per week, you’ll test AI reasoning and contribute to benchmarks across chemistry-related domains.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Chemistry or related fields, with strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously. Prior AI experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or closely related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across advanced chemistry domains.
• Able to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely in writing.
• Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to evaluating quality and accuracy.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and asynchronously.
• No prior AI experience required — we'll get you up to speed.

Responsibilities

• Design graduate-level chemistry problems to test AI reasoning.
• Develop clear, structured solutions with step-by-step logic for AI learning.
• Evaluate AI outputs for scientific accuracy, reasoning quality, and depth.
• Collaborate with researchers to build benchmarks across chemistry-related domains.
