Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a Utility Janitor for remote Arctic camps with fly-in/fly-out travel from Edmonton to Nunavut sites. The role includes cleaning, on-site driving, and ensuring WHMIS compliance.

Meals and accommodations are provided, and a valid driver’s license plus safety certifications are required. You will work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced camp environment, with a starting hourly wage of 20.17 CAD and a 3 weeks on/3 weeks off rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (hospitality certification preferred).
• 1–3 years janitorial or labour experience (remote camp or hotel preferred) with construction site driving experience.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting.
• WHMIS and safety certifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Physically fit to perform duties.
• Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol and Health Assessments.
• Criminal Background Check clearance.
• Clear English communication via radios.
• Ability to pass employment drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial cleaning of all assigned areas (dining hall, recreation room, offices, warehouses).
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and storage areas; restock supplies.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip and buff floors; clean carpets, rugs, and wash windows.
• Collect garbage and recyclables; drive camp vehicles to transport waste.
• Drive utility vehicles to deliver supplies, linens, and equipment between buildings.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks and report major repairs.
• Ensure PPE use and WHMIS compliance.
