Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of strong insurance background handling litigation claims in a Bodily Injury claims environment.
• Strategic negotiation skills to drive early resolution.
• Ability to assess situations and exposure quickly, manage stakeholders, and guide settlements.
• CIP designation is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and settle litigation files of varying complexity.
• Direct and guide defense counsel toward timely resolution.
• Interpret complex policy wordings and determine coverages.
• Review reports, approve settlements and process payments within limits.
• Attend mediations, settlement meetings and hearings.
• Provide input into regional cost containment strategies.
• Mentor and coach junior claim staff.
