Job summary

emergiTEL is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst – Intermediate to support the GoA Data Strategy through data analysis, modeling, and visualization. The role focuses on creating data products, dashboards, and KPIs to enable evidence-based decisions.

Based remotely in Canada with up to 15% onsite Edmonton meetings, you will collaborate in the Data Centre of Excellence, work across data sources, and translate complex data into actionable insights for government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in BI, Data Analytics, Statistics, CS, IS.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role.
• Demonstrated experience developing data products based on various data sets.
• Proven experience analyzing data and preparing results.
• Experience gathering and documenting client requirements.
• Experience designing and developing data products.
• Experience capturing business and technical metadata for data products.
• Experience performing data analysis, data quality audits/reviews, statistical analysis, and data mining.
• Experience developing data models and products.
• Experience developing KPIs, metrics, and other indicators.
• Experience designing and creating dashboards and custom reporting.
• Experience integrating quantitative and qualitative data.
• Experience working in multi-vendor/staff environments.
• Public sector experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provides hands-on business intelligence support on strategic data initiatives by translating data into actionable insights via dashboards, reports and KPIs.
• Works with the Manager, Analytics Capability Centre to deliver BI capabilities and develop data products.
• Analyze data and prepare results; gather and document client requirements; design and develop data products.
• Capture metadata for data products; perform data analysis, quality audits, and data mining.
• Develop data models and products; create dashboards and custom reporting for multiple data sources.
