Job summary

Lightspeed Commerce is seeking an Analytics Engineer for the Financial Services Data team in Canada. You will oversee analytics and reports across FS, collaborating with Engineering, Product, Operations, Risk and Finance to deliver insights.

Strong SQL/Python, data modeling, and Looker/dashboard experience are required. Hybrid/remote work options and a clear path for growth within a global company are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with SQL and Python coding.
• Experience with MPP data warehouse (BigQuery).
• Experience with dbt or dataform.
• Data profiling, mapping and quality validation.
• Experience with data orchestration.
• Understanding of data warehousing/modelling.
• Knowledge of data environments (GCP) and containerization.
• Experience in source control, CI/CD and automated testing.
• Security mindset with SOX/GDPR compliance.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• English fluency as working language.

Responsibilities

• Cleanse and transform raw data into business logic for reports and models.
• Analyze data and suggest sources to meet business needs.
• Ensure data is delivered to the right people at the right time.
• Collaborate with Central Data Team to build data pipelines and feed data models.
• Champion data quality and usability across Financial Services.
• Ensure data availability, quality and documentation searchability.
• Write and optimize queries with version control and CI/CD.
• Automate testing of data models and add validations.
• Define and improve standards for data models and infrastructure.
• Explain complex information to teammates.
• Maintain or create simple Looker dashboards.
