About The Opportunity

• Outlier is seeking talented writers with fluency in English to help train generative artificial intelligence models.
• This is a remote, reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity with flexible hours, allowing you to work at your convenience.

Contributions

• Reading English text to rank responses produced by AI models.
• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, involving research and fact-checking.
• Assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-generated text.

Desired Expertise

• Professional writing or editing experience.
• Enrollment in or completion of an associate degree or higher in a writing-related discipline from a selective institution.
• Strong writing style, exceptional English spelling and grammar, and good logic and reasoning skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to clearly explain strengths and weaknesses of texts.

Payment

• Average pay rate for core project work by English writing experts in the US is USD $15/hour.
• UK: up to £11/hr.
• Canada: up to $20 CAD/hr.
• Rates vary based on expertise, skills, location, and project needs. Higher rates may be offered for PhDs or special projects. Lower rates may apply during onboarding or overtime phases. Incentive payments may also be available.
