Job summary

Outlier, an AI training platform owned by Scale AI, seeks detail-oriented English speakers to review AI-generated media. You will roleplay conversations with an AI voice model, compare outputs, and explain any issues in writing from a remote, flexible schedule.

Ideal candidates are fluent in English with strong written communication, high attention to detail, and the ability to make clear decisions when options are imperfect. This is a freelance / 1099 contract work-from-anywhere opportunity.

Qualifications

• Fluent English with clear written communication.
• Excellent attention to detail and careful listening.
• Able to think on your feet and explain reasoning.
• Experience writing brief, evidence-based reviews.
• Decisive in situations with imperfect options.
• Nice to have: pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Hold a live, scenario-based conversation in English with AI voice models and rank naturalness and usefulness.
• Compare AI-generated images and videos and judge which better follows the prompt.
• Inspect outputs closely to spot problems like distortions, flickering, or misalignment.
• Write explanations in English detailing what was observed and why.
