Job description

Compensation: $25 – $28/hour (full-time / permanent)

When disasters happen, Remediation Technicians at On Side are truly on ‘your side’. Asbestos and mould can appear anywhere and require specialized knowledge and experience to manage. Remediation Technicians perform remediation services while prioritizing the health and safety of workers and clients.

Remediation Technicians are responsible for:

1. Ensuring a safe work area by knowing how to remove and remediate potential dangers from asbestos and mould.
2. Identifying and disposing of asbestos- and mould-contaminated materials.

What you bring:

1. Ability to perform work following procedures and legislation.
2. Maintaining cleanliness of the site, vehicle, and tools.
3. Interest in cross-training into Water Damage, Fire Damage, Emergency, and other areas as needed.
4. Interest in active learning and growth within the company.
5. Basic carpentry skills.
6. Flexibility with work schedules and hours.
7. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow scope of work.
8. Organized with good time management—rarely late and knows the location of all tools.
9. Physically fit—remediation can involve heavy lifting and working in tight spaces.
10. Friendly and team-oriented attitude.
11. Valid driver’s license and a clean criminal record (background check required).
12. Clean-shaven face (if applicable) for proper mask fit.
13. Willingness to wear full PPE during shifts.
14. Comfortable working in confined spaces.
15. Ability to communicate in English.

Additional qualities that contribute to success (not required):

• Willingness to participate in rotating 24/7 on-call schedule due to the unpredictable nature of disasters.
