Job summary

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in a relevant field.
• Proven dedication to work on women's issues.
• Must undergo a vulnerable sector check.
• Ability to work various shifts, including overnights.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain safe living conditions within the shelter.
• Provide client-centered support and crisis intervention.
• Manage challenging situations with difficult behavior.
• Link women to community resources and referrals.
• Assist in meal preparation and housekeeping.

Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Advocacy and mediation skills

Problem solving and conflict resolution

Understanding of feminist ideology

Knowledge of Indigenous cultures

Ability to communicate in Cree/Ojibway/Oji-Cree

Education
