Job Type: Full Time

Travel: This position requires the ability to travel within areas of the province, serving a variety of regions for a short or long-term assignment as needed, with all applicable travel expenses covered by the company.

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Relief Pharmacist to join our growing team. We provide full pharmacy team support, progressive pharmacy practice, and friendly staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right applicant!

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy and actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement. The Pharmacist will play a key role in achieving departmental excellence in the areas of patient-focused care, customer service, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Focus on clinical services (e.g., medication reviews, disease state management)
  • Initiate care plans, follow up, and document
  • Determine appropriateness of drug therapy
  • Monitor medication adherence
  • Collect and document relevant patient, drug, and disease information
  • Recommend OTC products and vitamins
  • Answer questions from patients that require therapeutic knowledge, clinical analysis, or assessment
  • Supervise a pharmacy student or a provisional pharmacist in the performance of restricted activities
  • Other duties as required

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Education and Experience:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Certificate of Injection for Drug Administration
  • Familiarity with Kroll is an asset
  • A minimum of one year’s experience as a retail Pharmacist is preferred
  • Prior experience working in a retail environment is considered an asset
