Job summary

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a Relief Part Time Registered Nurse for the Operating Room at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC. The RN provides direct nursing care, scrubs and circulates, and supports patient safety before, during, and after surgery.

The role supports the Surgical Services team with a focus on collaborative, high‑quality care within a large regional health authority. Position available until approximately July 2027 or until the incumbent returns.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with BCCNM.
• One year of recent clinical nursing experience in the OR or designated area, with relevant post-graduate coursework or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care of patients in the OR.
• Receives/admits patients to the OR and coordinates nursing care per orders.
• Performs scrub and circulation duties and ensures instrument/equipment readiness.
• Maintains safety, documents care, and participates in quality improvement.
• Mentors staff and participates in orientation and education.
• Collaborates with the care team to promote patient autonomy, privacy and dignity.
