Job summary

Suncor is seeking a Junior Reliability Engineer in Fort McMurray to support safe, reliable production while improving safety, quality, and efficiency. The role offers relocation assistance and a path to professional registration with APEGA for eligible candidates.

You will review inspection results, manage data in GE APM, and collaborate across disciplines to improve integrity and performance. Fort McMurray location with a 40-hour week awaits a motivated graduate or early-career professional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–5 years of experience in mechanical, maintenance, or reliability engineering.
• Registered, or eligible for registration, with APEGA as a P.Eng. or EIT.
• Oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, or related facilities experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4, and NDE/NDT methods preferred.
• Experience with GE APM or similar asset integrity systems is a plus.
• Strong computer skills; advanced Excel and data management capabilities.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review TML inspection results and perform corrosion and remaining life calculations with risk-based recommendations.
• Maintain and improve the TML database in GE APM and Excel tools.
• Develop TML scopes and assess findings to define repair or replacement-in-kind recommendations.
• Create piping repair and replacement scopes for maintenance, turnarounds, and outages.
• Collaborate with NDE, inspectors, engineers, operations, and planners in a fast-paced environment.
• Support asset integrity and reliability initiatives through data analysis and continuous improvement.
