Job summary

RRC Companies seeks a Relay Settings Engineer to develop protective relay settings for transmission, distribution, substations and renewable energy facilities. You will perform relay coordination studies, short-circuit analyses, fault analyses, and support protection schemes across utility and industrial power systems using ETAP, ASPEN, SKM, CAPE or similar tools.

The role requires a BS in Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering (MS preferred), 5+ years of related experience, PE in the U.S.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering or related field.
• MS in Electrical/ Renewable Energy Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years in relay settings, protection and control or power systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and calculate protective relay settings for transmission, distribution, substations and renewables.
• Perform relay coordination studies, short circuit studies, and fault analysis.
• Support design, implementation and review of protection schemes.
• Review diagrams and protection/control drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Utilize ETAP, ASPEN, SKM, CAPE or similar tools for studies and coordination.
• Coordinate with utilities, project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support commissioning, testing and energization activities.
