Nelson House Medicine Lodge in Manitoba is hiring a Relative Support Worker to provide culturally safe support on the recovery journey. You will use trauma-informed, strength-based methods to help clients build life skills, connect with community resources, and maintain recovery goals while participating in culturally grounded activities.

The role requires strong communication and advocacy skills, a willingness to work rotating shifts, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals in recovery and life skills development.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to obtain Class 4 licence within six months.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays.

• Assist in monitoring and implementing treatment, recovery, and wellness plans.
• Assist with group activities, recovery meetings, and cultural/land-based programming.
• Support daily living skills, community integration, and sober living goals.

• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality.
• Work with Recovery Coaches, Cultural Resource Worker and Land Based Coordinator.

Working within a trauma-informed and strength-based approach, the worker helps Relatives In Recovery (clients) build healthy lifestyles, maintain recovery goals, develop life skills, and connect with community resources.The Nelson House Medicine Lodge works with adults with medium to high levels of mental health and substance use disorders and has been exposed to significant serious or long-lasting trauma.
