Job summary

TMX Group in Toronto is seeking a senior relationship manager for the Registered Product line. You will handle daily client inquiries on registered plan administration and ensure policy compliance.

Responsibilities include liaising with CRA and pension regulators, processing monthly statements and billing, and maintaining strong client relationships with senior officers. This is a hybrid role with 2–3 days in the office.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in the financial services industry.
  • Specialized knowledge of retirement products (RRSPs, TFSAs, RRIFs, RESPs).
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with CRA and provincial pension regulators to ensure compliant documentation.
  • Work with the cash management group to update account information on the custody platform.
  • Prepare monthly client account statements and process monthly billing.
  • Calculate monthly interest payments payable to clients.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and advise management.
  • Draft responses to audit confirmations.
  • Attend events or conferences as needed.

Ready to be part of the action? This role is the key relationship management contact for a group of investment dealers for the Registered Product business line. The position is responsible for: responding to enquiries from clients with respect to the daily administration of the client’s registered plan accounts; ensuring that clients are administering their registered plan accounts in accordance with TSX Trust issued policies and procedures; and determining which issues that may arise are required to be escalated to the Director - Dealer Services. This role is hybrid (2 - 3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.

Key accountabilities:
  • Responding to daily client (Agent) queries in areas of registered plan administration, locked‑in account processing, estate settlements and beneficiary designations.
  • Liaising with CRA and provincial pension commissions to ensure all documentation is current and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Working with the cash management group to ensure accurate opening, closing, and updating account information on our custody platform.
  • Preparing monthly account statements for clients.
  • Processing monthly billing.
  • Calculating monthly interest payments payable to clients.
  • Monitor legislative requirements and updates through external sources, including the Canada Revenue Agency, provincial pension regulators, law firms, etc. Advise management of changes as they arise.
  • Making regulatory or policy changes to internal and external administration guide.
  • Communicating legislation and policy changes to Agents once finalized by management and GCO.
  • Ensuring receipt of documentation required from Agents. Including monthly AML and Terrorism Financing certificates, annual certificates of compliance, tax remittances and certificates of incumbency.
  • Drafting responses to audit confirmation requests.
  • Following up with clients regarding overdue invoice payments.
  • May be required to attend business entertainment events and/or conferences.
Must Have:
  • 5+ years within the Financial Services industry.
  • Specialized knowledge of retirement products, including: RRSPs, TFSAs, RRIFs and RESPs.
  • Basic understanding of interest rates and interest calculations.
  • Strong communication skills, including writing and presentation skills.
  • Experienced in research and development of written communication.
  • Working knowledge of Google Enterprise products, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Focus on following policies and procedures when completing tasks with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with senior officers of corporations and a strong desire to develop and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be flexible and engage staff at all levels.
  • Read and analyze documents.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • A good working knowledge of the securities industry and capital markets.
  • A willingness and ability to adapt to a changing environment and responsibilities.
Nice to Have:
  • Completion of Canadian Securities and similar courses is preferred, but not essential.
  • Pension product knowledge is an asset.
  • Experience in development of corporate and client communication.
  • Prior experience managing strategic corporate or institutional clients.
  • Estate & trust experience.
  • Sales experience.

Salary Range: 75,000/year - 80,000/year CAD. Please note that the salary range included is a guideline only. The salary offered may vary based on factors, including, but not limited to, the successful candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
