Job summary

Oak Valley Health in Ontario is seeking a Rehab Assistant (OTA/PTA) to support Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering patient care. You will assist with exercise programs, gait and balance training, and group sessions under supervision.

The role requires an accredited OTA/PTA credential, BLS, and strong teamwork and communication for interprofessional collaboration. This position is based at our Markham/Uxbridge sites with standard 8-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA/PTA education program in Canada.
• Related previous experience or sound knowledge of the rehabilitation/physiotherapy/occupational assistant role.
• BLS Certification is Required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the interprofessional team.
• Evidence of self-direction and flexibility in your work approach.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out a developed patient exercise program.
• Gait and balance training.
• Conducting exercise groups.
• Application of modalities within the scope of practice.
• ADL training; designing and making assistive devices to improve ADL.
