Position Overview

Under the direction of the Program Support Manager(s), Rehabilitation Services or the designated staff in Rehabilitation Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values, and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital, the REHABILITATION ASSISTANT is responsible for:
  1. Performing direct and indirect patient care activities as assigned.
  2. Assisting Rehabilitation Services in the implementation of appropriate unit-based treatment programs.
  3. Maintaining and preparing clinical treatment areas, supplies, and equipment.
  4. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Grade 12, or recognized equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the Rehabilitation Assistant Program from Winnipeg Technical College or recognized equivalent.

Qualifications And Skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements
  • Physically capable of moving and transferring patients.
