Job summary

CBI Home Health is seeking an Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) to support clients in the Chatham-Kent region. The role emphasizes hands-on therapy, mobility aids, and family-centered care in a home health setting.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary OTA/PTA diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
• Knowledge of mobility aids and assistive equipment is preferred.

• Excellent communication and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clients for treatment and progress through programs.
• Assist in teaching activities of daily living and use of assistive equipment.
• Set up, operate, and clean therapy equipment to keep it in good working order.
• Apply modalities such as heat, ice, ultrasound, IFC, EMS, TENS, and Low Intensity.
• Document client progress clearly and professionally in records.

What you will need to be successful

• You possess a post-secondary diploma as an Occupational Therapy/ Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA)
• Valid Driver's License, Vehicle Insurance, and reliable vehicle is required
• You have a general knowledge of mobility aids and assistive equipment
• Your focus is to embrace and support person and family-centered care
• You are passionate, empathetic, use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making decisions
• You are known for your excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently
• You value the role a therapist plays in keeping clients at home when that is of personal importance

What's the role:

• Prepare clients for treatment and progress clients through treatment programs
• Assist with and/or teach client therapy programs and training activities of daily living, including the use of assistive equipment and balance training
• Assist in the use of therapeutic equipment including set up, take down, and cleaning/disinfecting. Ensure equipment is in good working order
• Apply modalities, including but not limited to heat, ice, ultrasound, IFC, EMS, TENS, and Low Intensity
• Responsible for writing clear professional, objective and accurate documentation in client communication records
