Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is looking for a dedicated Rehab Assistant to join our team in Timmins. The role involves supporting clients in personalized rehabilitation programs, promoting their independence and facilitating activities. Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s licence and auto insurance.

Rehab Assistant (Part‑Time)

Bayshore HealthCare is a leading provider of home and community health care services. We are seeking a dedicated and supportive individual to join our team as a Rehab Assistant in Timmins and surrounding rural areas. The role involves supporting adult and/or pediatric clients in achieving their maximum potential through personalized rehabilitation programs delivered by regulated health care practitioners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out the prescribed treatment program as directed and taught.
  • Document clients’ progress and report outcomes to the applicable practitioner.
  • Implement personalized rehabilitation programs in collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, speech and language pathologists.
  • Promote maximum independence for clients at home, in the community, and at work to support their re‑integration.
  • Conduct engaging exercise programs and group exercise classes.
  • Provide effective behavioral interventions tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Facilitate and supervise activities of daily living, along with social, educational, and vocational re‑integration plans.
  • Implement cognitive therapy programs to enhance clients’ cognitive abilities.
  • Promote and organize enjoyable leisure activities for clients.
  • Attend case conferences and team meetings to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Drive clients safely as needed (with valid insurance coverage).
  • Maintain infection prevention practices to keep a safe environment.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and external continuing education activities.
  • Complete additional tasks as requested to support client care.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Completion of a recognized Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or Rehabilitation Assistant college program. A university degree in kinesiology and/or a RRP or CCRC designation will also be considered.
  • Valid driver’s licence and auto insurance.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations objectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
  • Self‑directed, takes direction accurately, and demonstrates ongoing learning.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and secure email.
  • Commitment to continual learning.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced customer service environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention practices.

Employment Details

Location: Timmins and surrounding rural areas.

Schedule: Part‑time – 2‑3 days per week (Monday to Friday) with approximately 15‑20 visits per week.
