Reports To: Regulatory Compliance Manager
Responsibilities:
- Keep abreast of key compliance and regulatory requirements, assist in the implementation of the Bank-wide Compliance Program;
- Monitor and analyze regulatory developments and assess their impact on the Bank, support the Regulatory Change Management;
- Assist with the update or development of policies and procedures for new and changed regulations and/or business processes, and monitor their implementation;
- Assist with the oversight of and adherence to FCAC Consumer Protection related regulations, including Market Conduct and Complaint Handling;
- Conduct independent monitoring and testing to assess compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, as per the compliance testing plan;
- Assist in development and updating compliance training decks, coordinate the training delivery and implementation of compliance training plan;
- Support the Team in regulatory reporting to OSFI, FCAC, CDIC, etc. and administrative matters;
- Handle compliance tasks within established guidelines for quality and timeliness under supervision of a senior team member;
- Handle confidential information while interacting with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner;
- Coordinate the preparation of reports, meeting documents, and other assignment as required, support the Team on various projects and complex tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Business, Finance or Law;
- At least one year of work experience in a financial services environment with exposure to Canadian regulatory compliance;
- Sound Knowledge of regulatory requirements and legislation, including OSFI, FCAC Guidelines. Ability to interpret and operationalize regulatory requirements;
- Good understanding of the Bank’s Compliance policies and procedures;
- Prioritize and manage own workload, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines;
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team and throughout the organization;
- Critical thinking and analytical skills with a focus on problem solving and continuous improvement;
- Meticulous attention to detail and very strong organizational and prioritization skills;
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ability to learn other programs;
- Excellent writing and communication skills;
- Flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and the ability to handle confidential information;
- Professional attitude and strong adherence to high ethical standards, ability to maintain confidentiality.
