The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) is the regulatory body overseeing the profession of occupational therapy in Ontario. Operating under the Ontario Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, and the Occupational Therapy Act, 1991, the College ensures public safety by setting practice requirements, standards, policies, and programs that occupational therapists must follow, and by holding them accountable for their conduct and practice.

COTO seeks an exceptional leader committed to serving the public interest as its next Registrar & CEO. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for daily operations, resource management, and enhancing public protection. The role involves providing leadership in registration, quality assurance, HR, and financial management, ensuring compliance with professional obligations, and addressing emerging issues in occupational therapy practice at provincial, national, and international levels.

The ideal candidate is an effective administrator with a modern leadership approach, proven success in fostering collaboration and positive stakeholder relationships. You should possess excellent communication and management skills, experience navigating complex environments under public scrutiny, and insight into health care regulation and interprofessional collaboration. Governance experience and organizational development skills are also essential. Candidates should have the educational and experiential background suitable for a leadership role focused on public protection.
