Qualifications

  • Experience with anesthesia techniques including CRIs and TIVA.
  • Ability to perform advanced imaging such as CT scans and use of Fluoroscopy.
  • Skilled in administering epidurals and managing invasive blood pressure monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for surgeries, assist during procedures, and manage patient recovery.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
  • Provide compassionate care for hospitalized pets.

Job description

Guardian Veterinary Centre is welcoming an experienced Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT to join our Anesthesia team. While our network is large, we still offer that local community feeling, mentorship, and additional training!We provide high-quality medicine and are passionate about our patients.

Schedule : This is a full-time mat leave position that entails a condensed work week of 4 x 10-hour shifts in a weekday rotation and on-call shifts.

This is a great opportunity to learn advanced nursing and anesthesia skills and to become part of a large team.

Have completed a Veterinary Technologist or Animal Health Technologist program.

Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery.

Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records.

Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents

Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving aptitude, including the ability to ask clarifying questions to facilitate effective solution-finding

Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents.

Passion to learn more within the role.

A love for all companion animals!!

Some advanced skills you will use in this position are :

Use of CRIs and TIVA (total intravenous anesthesia)

Performing advanced imaging such as CT scans and use of Fluoroscopy

Performing radiographs HANDS FREE (our RVTs are never in that room!)

Administering epidurals and other various local blocks

Use of mechanical ventilators

Invasive blood pressure monitoring
