Job summary

Bridgeland Vet Clinic in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technologist for a full-time role. The RVT will provide nursing care, anesthesia support, and diagnostic imaging, while educating clients and managing admissions and discharges.

Availability for day shifts with rotating Saturdays is required. Applicants should have an accredited two-year veterinary technology program, be registered or eligible for registration, and prefer at least 2 years of RVT experience.

• Strong communication skills, both telephone and in person.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Experience as a RVT and mentoring others is valued.

The Opportunity

Our RVT’s must display a positive attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to animal care, while possessing strong organizational skills, excellent telephone and in-person communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Our employees are passionate and show great compassion for animals and their owners and understand the stress that patients and clients are under. Our RVT’s daily duties include: nursing care, anesthesia, diagnostic imaging and testing, client education and interaction including admissions and discharges, and filling prescriptions. • Availability for day shifts, plus Saturdays on a rotational basis;
• Graduated from an accredited two-year veterinary technology program;
• Registered or are eligible for registration with the relevant governing bodies;
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Registered Veterinary Technologist preferred;
• The ability to lift 35+ pounds without assistance;
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
