Kingston Road Animal Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our dynamic veterinary team. In this hands-on role, you will assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, diagnostics, and anesthesia support while ensuring compassionate, high-quality care for our patients.

You will educate pet owners, maintain accurate medical records, and help manage laboratory testing and routine clinic operations in a busy, team-focused environment committed to excellence.

Qualifications

  • Proven laboratory experience with processing samples and diagnostics.
  • Experience in veterinary settings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostics with precision.

Duties


  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and confidence

  • Collect and process laboratory samples, perform tests, and interpret results to aid in accurate diagnoses

  • Prepare animals for procedures by administering medications, setting up equipment, and providing anesthesia support when needed

  • Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medication administration, and preventive health strategies

  • Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files, and ensure compliance with clinic protocols

  • Operate laboratory equipment efficiently, including microscopes and diagnostic analyzers, leveraging your laboratory experience

  • Support daily clinic operations by managing inventory of supplies and ensuring a clean, organized workspace



Experience


  • Proven laboratory experience with familiarity in processing samples and conducting diagnostic tests

  • Prior experience working in a veterinary or animal care setting is highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and common medical procedures

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners

  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
