Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for our Silverthorn Community in Mississauga. You will provide compassionate nursing care, follow resident plans, and support families, while supervising PSWs to maintain high standards of daily living for seniors.

You will report to the Director of Care and play a key role in delivering comfort, dignity and respect in a community that values diversity and inclusive care. Must hold a current RPN license in Ontario.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Ability to supervise support staff and coordinate resident care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, physician orders, and resident plan of care within RPN/LPN scope.
• Deliver high-quality nursing and personal care using established practice principles.
• Create a welcoming, supportive environment through teamwork and effective communication.
• Oversee resident care, liaise with families, and guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Perform admissions, readmissions, and status changes with ongoing resident assessment.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Practical Nurse is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
