Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for Weston Terrace Community in Toronto on a temporary part-time night shift (11pm–7am). The role supports residents with comprehensive nursing care, within the established care plans and policies, ensuring comfort, dignity and safety.

You will work under the Director of Care and collaborate with staff to maintain a welcoming, respectful environment and to meet the evolving needs of residents and families.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses (OCN).
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or hold a valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physicians' orders, and resident plan of care within the RPN/LPN scope of practice.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care using sound nursing principles.
• Create a welcoming environment for residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, providing guidance to staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit.
• Conduct admission, readmission, and status change assessments and ongoing resident evaluations.

What Youll be doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Sienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physicians orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
