Job summary

Headwaters Health Care Centre in Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join the Obstetrics team on a temporary full-time basis. The successful candidate will provide patient- and family-centered nursing care within the obstetrics department, delivering care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires current RPN registration in Ontario, obstetric experience or interest, and relevant certifications such as CPR and NRP.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Practical Nurse certification from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Experience in obstetrical nursing preferred.
• Maternal Newborn Nursing Certificate completed or to be completed within one year (completion preferred).
• Breastfeeding course completed or to be completed within 6 months (completion preferred).
• Current CPR certification.
• Current NRP certification.
• Parenteral Therapy certification (preferred).
• Surgical Asepsis course (preferred).
• Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
• Acceptable performance and attendance records.

Responsibilities

• The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Registered Practical Nurse within the Obstetrics Department.
• Provide quality patient/family focused nursing care to a patient population with predictable outcomes.
• As part of the interdisciplinary health team, the RPN will practice within their full scope and standards.

Position Responsibilities

The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Registered Practical Nurse within the Obstetrics Department. The Registered Practical Nurse is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient/family focused nursing care to a patient population with predictable outcomes. As part of the interdisciplinary health team, the RPN will practice within their full scope in accordance with the nursing philosophy and standards set by HHCC, the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Regulated Health Professions Act legislation.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Practical Nurse certification from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Recent and related experience in obstetrical nursing (preferred)
• Maternal Newborn Nursing Certificate completed or to be completed within one year (completion is preferred)
• Breastfeeding course (20 hour INFACT/WHO) completed or to be completed within 6 months (completion is preferred)
• Current CPR certification
• Current NRP certification
• Parenteral Therapy certification (preferred)
• Surgical Asepsis course (preferred)
• Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
• Acceptable performance and attendance records

Hiring Salary Range: $38.210 - $39.019

The duration of this temporary position is approximately six (6) months.
