Qualifications
  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
  • At least two years of RPN experience in acute care
  • Completion of Perioperative course
  • IV Certification
  • Excellent assessment, communication, critical thinking, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Good judgment to recognize urgent situations
  • Ability to provide education to patients, families, and healthcare providers

Duties and Responsibilities

Contribute within the scope of practice as an RPN in surgical services, including pre-operative teaching, patient preparation, scrubbing in the OR, assisting with recovery and discharge, and caring for patients in the Endoscopy unit. Provide assessment, treatment, health promotion, and support in accordance with College standards.

Start Date: In line with next hospital orientation

Hours: 8-hour shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and on-call. Operations run 24/7, so availability for all shifts is expected.

Wage: $35.706 - $37.049
