Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time RPN/LPN to enhance nursing practice daily in compliance with governing bodies and internal standards. The role involves assessing residents, developing care plans, and delivering care per physicians’ orders while monitoring health and documenting changes.

Strong communication, organizational, and infection control skills are essential. Applicants must hold a current Ontario certificate of competence and be eligible for registration.

Qualifications

  • Current certificate of competence from the Approved Institutions for the province.
  • Registration or eligible for registration with the Approved Institutions for the province.
  • Previous managerial experience in long-term care or community homecare preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care following established nursing standards and physicians' orders.
  • Assess residents and develop, implement, review, and evaluate care plans.
  • Monitor health, note changes, and refer to doctors as needed.

Job DescriptionThe RPN/LPN will enhance the effective management and quality of nursing practice daily in keeping with the standards and expectations set out by governing bodies and internal policies and standards of care.General Responsibilities1) Ensure care is provided with established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders and administrative policies, as well as, observe, report and record vital signs, symptoms and conditions of residents / patients. Assure observance of required techniques in nursing care2) Assist in assessing patients/residents and develop, implement, review and evaluate care plans.
