Job summary

Brightshores Health System in Owen Sound is seeking a part-time Registered Practical Nurse for the Operating Room to assess perioperative patient needs and support nursing activities with safe and efficient use of equipment.

You will collaborate with the OR team, scrub in all services, adhere to ORNAC standards, remain flexible for on-call and 20-minute hospital access, and contribute to patient safety and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Operating Room certificate completed, with OR experience preferred.

Qualifications
Required:

• Current Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
• Successful completion of the Operating Room certificate (and preferably at least two years of OR experience)
• Ability to scrub in all services
• Knowledge of the current ORNAC standards
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment
• Ability to function as a team member
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to flex time to meet unit’s need
• Proven verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated problem solving, decision making and organizational skills
• Ability to respond to urgent/emergency situations
• Must be willing to take call and be available to reach the hospital within 20 minutes
• Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
