Job summary

St. Joseph's Health Care London is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for Mount Hope – Marian Villa in London, ON. This part-time role requires current Ontario nursing registration and recent elderly care experience. CPR certification, pharmacology knowledge, and safe medication administration are essential.

The successful candidate will work in a team-oriented environment, adhere to OHSA safety standards, and participate in teaching and care activities at a affiliated teaching hospital.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in care of the elderly and/or younger physically challenged adults.
• Valid CPR certificate.
• OHSA safety culture knowledge and compliance.
• Proficiency in pharmacology and medication administration.
• Experience with catheter injections, irrigations, sub q and IM injections, and G-tube care maintenance.
• Understanding of asepsis and infection control.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Team player with ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to residents at Mount Hope – Marian Villa.
• Administer medications and injections per physician orders.

Part Time

Salary Range: $39.96 - $40.37 /hour

It is understood that the hours of work reflect the current scheduling arrangements and are subject to change as determined by the Employer.

Essential Qualifications

• Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Minimum of two years recent experience in the care of the elderly and/or younger physically challenged adults
• Valid CPR certificate
• Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
• Proficiency and experience in pharmacology and medication administration
• Recent experience with catheter injections, irrigations, sub q and IM injections, and G-tube care maintenance
• Understanding of and recent and relevant experience in use of asepsis
• Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organization, and leadership skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• A police record check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the successful candidate
