Job summary

Bruyère Health in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking a Permanent, Full-time Registered Practical Nurse for a rotation of day and night shifts (12 hours), 75 hours per pay period, 1.0 FTE. This replacement position sits within an interdisciplinary team delivering safe, patient-centered care in line with Bruyère Health policies and Ontario college standards.

The role requires RPN medication administration, valid CNO registration, and BLS CPR Level C.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of RPN medication administration course or equivalent.
  • Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Level C certificate.

  • Deliver safe, patient and resident-centered nursing care in line with scope of practice and Bruyère Health policies.

SALARY SCALE : $37.323 to $38.663 per hour

What would my role be?

Reporting to Clinical Manager, as a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will deliver safe, effective, patient and resident-centered, ethical and evidence-based nursing care to patients according to scope of practice and in accordance with Bruyère Health policies, procedures and standards and with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards. You will communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with patients/residents and their loved ones, colleagues and other health discipline members.

Required :
  • Successful completion of RPN medication administration course or equivalent
  • Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate
Preferred :
  • Experience in medicine/surgery, complex care, nephrology and/or rehabilitation care
  • Membership in Registered Practical Nurses' Association of Ontario (RPNAO)
  • Fluent in French and English
