Job summary

University Health Network is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for a permanent part-time position at the West Park Healthcare Centre in Toronto. You will join a multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate, competent care in the Long Term Ventilation/Respiratory Complex Continuing Care unit.

The role requires valid CN Ontario registration and a Diploma in Practical Nursing, with strong teamwork, communication and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and evaluate nursing care for patients and families within the RPN scope of practice in the context of an interdisciplinary practice.
• Use current theoretical and research knowledge and input of team members to plan and implement care for patients and families.
• Participate in inter-professional team care planning forums, inter-professional rounds and family conferences.
• Provide mentorship to RPN students and new staff on the unit.
• Participate in professional, program and hospital-wide initiatives, including professional development of self.
• Compliance with patient safety responsibilities and hospital plans to ensure a safe environment.

Position Summary

As a member of a multi-disciplinary Team, the Registered Practical Nurse practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, the UHN Professional Practice Model and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN to provide compassionate, collaborative and competent care, while meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession.

Duties
